Our Senior Director of Policy and Advocacy, Shawn Healy, spoke on a panel about student engagement in the legislative process at the National Conference of State Legislatures Legislative Summit.

Session Description:

At a time of increasing concern about the state of U.S. politics and democracy, attention has turned to civics education as a means of equipping students with the skills and tools to become informed and engaged citizens, able to participate in civil discourse. How can legislators and legislative staff work to engage young citizens in the process and institutions of government? By building a foundation of civics knowledge, civility and community equipping the next generation of engaged lawmakers, citizens and stakeholders.
