On the eve of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Investigation Declaration puts students on a sleuth crime-solving quest that explores the principles of the Declaration and how it inspired similar declarations of freedom around the world.
iCivics and Bill of Rights Institute Launch Civic Star Challenge, a Nationwide Initiative to Honor America’s 250th Birthday
Civic Star Challenge will give educators the opportunity to win more than $200,000 in prizes by integrating themes from the Declaration of Independence into their teaching, with the goal of inspiring millions of acts of civic learning before July 4, 2026.

The iCivics Educator Network has increased its elementary representation by nearly 48% this year, the highest level of elementary participation the Educator Network has seen. This growth reflects iCivics’ ongoing efforts to build out its elementary offerings.
