iCivics empowers educators with resources that build the knowledge, skills, and dispositions students need for informed civic participation.

In a nation governed of, by, and for the people, each one of us has a role to play in our civic life together—and the civic education that makes that possible.

That’s why iCivics collaborates across sectors, geographies, political viewpoints, and more in leading the movement for high-quality civic education.

Leading the Movement for Civic Education

CivxNow, led by iCivics, is an ever-growing movement, now with 300+ coalition members working to make civic education a priority at the state and national levels.

Through its national policy, research, and awareness affinity groups and state coalition partners, CivxNow works to advance high-quality civic education for all students.

Educating for American Democracy

The Educating for American Democracy (EAD) initiative is a call to action to invest in strengthening history and civic learning.

A diverse group of more than 300 scholars and educators from multiple perspectives came together to develop EAD’s roadmap for providing excellence in history and civic education. States, local school districts, and educators from across the United States are adapting this framework to transform their own teaching of civics and history to meet the needs of today’s diverse 21st-century K–12 student body.
