Fellowship Opportunity
Inspired Democracy Starts with Inspired Students
Civic learning empowers young people to own the past, take the helm, and chart a course toward the future. We welcome them to form their own opinions as they contribute their important and unique voices to the public conversation about civic education in the United States.
Apply to Join the iCivics Youth Fellowship
iCivics offers a 10-month (August-May) paid fellowship program for U.S. high school students. The students take part in civic and media workshops, learn how to articulate and share youth perspectives on civic education, and showcase their own civic learning experiences.
As part of the program, students:
Engage in virtual meetings and group projects
Build and lead student voice campaigns
Attend an annual convening in Washington D.C.
Serve as a youth ambassador for civic education
Students who join the program should expect a commitment of 5–10 hours a month. Students who complete all program requirements and adhere to the student code of conduct will receive a stipend at the end of the program.
Join the Alumni Network
Did you already participate in the youth fellowship? We welcome our alumni to continue to advance the larger discussion around civics for all and remain engaged with iCivics. Every year, several alumni members are chosen to serve on our alumni board. Our board will support the facilitation of the student-led discussions within the fellowship and will maintain fellowship engagement with the alumni network as it grows.
